Notes:From Chicago to Toronto - N9114B
This official record is in the NAA and FAI book of World & United States Aviation & Space Records. It was a timed event certified by the FAA. The actual ground speed at one point was 440 knots but the record was for the time/distance between 2 recognized points (ORD and YYZ) and the 382 knots was the average over that 378 nm in 59 min 26 sec.
I believe this record is an absolute record for non-military piston powered production aircraft.
